Chero and Dino soon met up with the others in the room with the cell in it.
Everyone gathered around and looked at Chero.
“…Before I say anything. I have a favor to ask of you…Do you see that box in the cell?”
“Yes, what about it?” Kiki asked.
“Can you open it for me?” Chero asked, “I can’t open it, but I want to see what is inside.”
“I can do it!” Danni cheered.
She hurried into the cell to open it up. Dante chuckled and followed Danni to
help her out.
“What’s in that box?” Mocha asked.
“Err…Hope?” Chero said.
“Huh?! What the hell?! It won’t open!” Danni cried.
Dante could not get it to budge open either.
“Maybe it’s locked?” he suggested.
Kiki and Mocha walked over to take a look. Jenny followed behind.
“Maybe it just needs a special touch?” she teased.
“Let me take a look,” Dino said.
“Dino,” Chero said.
Hime slipped past the couple to see if her super strength could open the box.
“What is it?” he asked.
“You found something in the cave right? Maybe it’s some sort of clue? May I take a look? I am a big Nancy Drew fan, you know?” Chero said.
Dino pulled out the metal piece from his jacket pocket, “You mean this? It’s not much. It probably means nothing.”
He held it out to Chero and she took it.
“Thanks…” she said.
“Che-”
Chero pushed Dino back so he was in the cell. She slammed the cell door shut.
“Chero?!” Hime questioned.
Chero turned away from the cell, “Hey Jenny. Why don’t you just say it.”
“…Chero!!” Jenny called.
“Say it! Say it in front of everyone! Who lured them here?!”
“What are you talking about?!” Kiki cried.
“Miss Jenny?” Francis questioned.
Chero started to walk to the exit, “By the way…There is not anything inside of
that box. It’s just an empty box. I’m sorry.”
“It can’t be…What’s the meaning of this?!” Mocha cried.
“Jenny, what’s going on here? What are you hiding?” Kiki asked.
Jenny looked away and kept quiet.
“Huh? Aren’t you going to say it?! Why not?! Read the situation for once!” Chero shouted.
“Amore! Chero! Open this door at once, please!” Dino called.
“Aww…But if I open it. You’ll get mad at me. But then again, you already are,” she giggled.
“Dammit!” Hime shouted.
“Chero…” Danni sighed.
“Aren’t you going to say it? Fine then. You see…I’m the one who told her the rumors about this place!” Chero explained
“What?” Francis questioned.
“I’m one who told Jenny about this place. And then she immediately went to ask everyone to come and check it out~”
Jenny winced.
“Then…” Hime started.
“Right. It was not Jenny who started it. I told her. I started this. I am the reason why you are here right now,” Chero said.
“You told her? You’re kidding! Why?” Danni questioned.
“No reason in particular. I just heard the rumors about this place…So I told Jenny.”
“Why did you lock us up here, Miss Chero?” Francis asked.
Chero closed her eyes and smirked to herself, “Hmm…Because you would get in the way? You would gang up on me and ruin my plans! So, just stay here for a while, ok?”
“You’re kidding me!” Kiki cried. She pulled out her pocket watch and tried to change something, “Damn! Because time is messed up…My watch…”
“Ah! That’s right. Thank you! You were really helpful.”
Chero walked to the door and turned back to look at everyone.
“Well…I’ll be going now. Thank you for finding this for me, Dino!” she said, waving the metal piece, “You too, Jenny. Thanks for everything~”
“…You really should have learned how to smile a little more naturally…” Jenny said.
Chero gasped a little.
“Did you forget what we said yesterday? Yes. You laid out the rails. But I chose to run on them, I could chose not to, but I did. No one thinks it is your fault,” Jenny said.
Chero turned away.
“Chero! Please! Open this! You don’t have to do this alone. We can help you!” Dino called.
“….No….No we can’t…” she said.
“CHERO!” Hime screamed.
“I’ll tell you one more thing….” Chero said, “The Thing. It is after me…that is why no matter how many of us are gathered…It will target me and attack me first! That’s why I tried to keep as close to the doors as I could, though it was a little pointless…This ends here. I’ll make this the last time. If I come back…You may scold me.”
Chero gave everyone one last smile and left.
Hime kicked and pulled at the door, “CHERO! CHERO! OPEN THIS DOOR! CHERO!”
“Chero!!!” Dino shouted.
