Hello and welcome to Keba's Anime and Manga Place (KAAMP for short)! Here at KAAMP, I write about anime and manga that I have seen/read as well as my views on them. I'll also post about my original stories from time to time.

Just beware that some of my posts contain spoilers. I'll put them in spoiler tags just in case.

KAAMP's history: KAAMP was created in July 2002 by yours truly. It was a sloppy-looking website on Yahoo's now defunct Geocities. I posted my anime fan art on that site. Also, for a time, I posted my thoughts on the few anime series that I had seen. Now that I look back on it, my thoughts were rather ill-informed (is that even a word?) because I had only seen bits and pieces of anime dubs. Now that I've seen more series, I think that my commentary on various anime will be a little better than before.

So, come on in and stay awhile! KAAMP is now in session.

Save the Wallers!

Ignore the lame attempt of a joke title.

Recently I've noticed a lack of activity in the Wallpapers section. I've heard complaints about not having good scans to use. Well, I may not be a waller (though I'd like to learn the craft), but I have some solutions.

Solution #1:

I rounded up a bunch of sites that may be of use. Disclaimer: I don't exactly know how reliable these sites are in terms of official art, though I'm pretty sure most of them are fine.

Minitokyo
Anime Artbooks
Kuusou
Spectrum Nexus
Celestial Star
Renders Graphics
The Jaded Network
The Forgotten Lair
Anime Galleries
Pure Anime Gallery

I had bookmarked a few more, but it seems those sites went under. Kinda sad.

Solution #2:

If someone would be so kind as to hold a Challenge for people to submit artwork for use in wallpapers, I would greatly appreciate it. (I'd do it myself, but I'm hosting another Challenge right now.) Wallers could make suggestions in the comments of what they'd like the fan artists to do. Or something like that. Any other rules are up to the Challenge maker.

Solution #3:

I was thinking of something like the Secret Santa event with both artists AND wallers. Instead of an SS, it would be a Valentine's Day/White Day sort of thing. If you don't know what I mean, it's a Japanese sort of thing. Google it. I'm probably going to get it wrong if I explain it here.

So, the plan would be to sign up as an artist, waller, or "flexible" (meaning you could do either, if there's a shortage of one in relation to the other). The wallers would make wish lists for fan artists, and each artist would receive a wish list. Then the artist would draw a picture for the waller to use as a "Valentine". The wallers would then make a wallpaper from the artwork and dedicate it to the artist as a White Day present.

There could be kinks in this setup, but I'm currently not aware of them. I'm not even sure if this should be a fan-run event or if I should PM the higher-ups to make this official. Let me know what you think.

Things Are Looking Better

My back is much better, and I'll be going to my parents' tomorrow. In short I CAN SCAN THOSE SIX PRIZES! And I can digitally color them too.

Now that that's settled, I want to work on some traditional and digital art simultaneously. I might not get the new OC one done in time, and I already missed the Pokemon Trainer Challenge, but I intend to draw pictures of those anyway. Although I haven't started, I do want to work on art for three more Challenges. I already have something in mind for two, and I hope I get inspiration for the third. Finally, I have that digital drawing that I've been meaning to complete for the longest time. All I have left is the shading and highlights.

I want to do a livestream so bad, but it seems like no one is on. That makes me sad.

In other news, I've been doing "research" for my new story. Basically I just Googled "mythological creatures" and found a wiki dedicated to that. I did learn some things from it. What I thought was a werewolf was actually called a lycan. I'm going to call the fairies in my story "sprites" instead. The three main characters will be elves, although I know it's cliche. Now I just need names for them all. *Sigh.*

Oh, yeah! I'm reading a new manga. You won't believe what it is. I'll draw some fan art of it soon.

I'm also thinking of making a post about "stigmatized" manga and anime series. I usually limit my K.A.A.M.P. posts to one per day, so you might see this tomorrow.

50th Drawing Fast Approaching!

As the title states, I'm going to be posting my 50th drawing pretty soon. I'm working on #49, and I'm almost at the halfway mark with it. But what do I do for 50?

The answer is to copy Darkarax's idea and take suggestions. I know 50 drawings isn't anywhere near as impressive as Darkarax's 500 wallpapers, but I don't know if I'll ever reach that many drawings. Only time will tell.

I have no clue what I want the subject matter to be. I do know that I want my 50th drawing to be something special, but not too overwhelming.* I want to get it done before June 1, 'cause that's when I kick off the 30 Days of Art event. So, hit me with suggestions!

*When I say overwhelming, I mean like a poster. Kita once suggested that I do a "movie poster" for my story, The Rebels of Planet Aadau. Although I want to do it, I still don't know where to begin with that one.
