Sometimes life throws hard times at us. At those times, we must never forget who we are and what we strive for. Never forget your dreams.

Bonds Between Our Hearts [Poem]

Bonds between Our Hearts:

First Chorus:

Not even the bitter hands of the Collision
Can break our faith apart…
Even if the world falls out of place
There will still be
Bonds between our hearts

Second Chorus:
Don’t lose sight of who you are
Your destiny doesn’t really lay away that far
There is a reason why you are still breathing
All though through your eyes
It may seem conceiving

Third Chorus:
But now we’re left with only one way this will end
Oh, there are no more rules we can bend
Even if the balance beam tips over
And the weight of our dreams is too much
There will still be a bond between our hearts
Oh, but moreover…

Fourth Chorus:
When I see you on that hill
Calling my name, I will run to you;
No matter what the distance is
And tell you it’s a new beginning
However, there will still be an unsure rushing wind inside of me
That clears the dusty paths of our shattered future

First Chorus Repeating:
No, not even the Collision
Will break our faith apart
There will still be
A bond between our hearts
A bond between our hearts

Ending Chorus:
Even if you are far away
My destiny will lead me to you and you to me
Even if I’m close to an ocean’s bay
Call my name and I will be there
Because no matter what, there will always be
bonds between our hearts

The Elemental Star Zones

“No way, sorry, but last time we went on one of your crazy adventures, we almost got killed.” Atsuko refused, turning to walk away from his best friend, Opal Fields. “Aw, come on, Atsuko, this time you’ll have a blast! I’ve actually met someone else there who can show us some neat stuff!” Opal begged. Her normally wide, blue eyes narrowed slyly. A twisted smile spread across her face. “I’ll tell you who I met and what she knows.” Opal tried to tempt him. Atsuko sighed. He knew it was hopeless not to go with her. After all, they did find it together…

Atsuko and Opal shared a secret. They found a portal inside an old abandoned tunnel that was underneath a bridge in the town they lived in. Sure, everyone else knew about the tunnel, but everyone had been saying that weird sounds were coming from there… Some said that an old lady died there during her daily walk, while others said that the spirits of people who died in their town haunted the area. In other words, it is cursed.

Therefore, one day, a couple of kids in Opal and Atsuko’s school dared them to check out the tunnel at midnight. Opal tripped and fell over a loose piece of tin in the floor. The tin opened, revealing a deep black whole. Atsuko grabbed her hand a second too late, and the whole sucked them into an abyss. Later, they found themselves stranded in a strange, enchanted place. Someone who was already there transported them back to the tunnel as soon as they saw them, and Opal and Atsuko never saw that place again.

Now, someone from far away came to their town, asking Opal and Atsuko if they had ever been to the tunnel. They said ‘no’, but the stranger insisted that they had. They said ‘no’ because the person wore black, and wouldn’t show his face or give a name. The man was angered, and ran away, cursing. Since then, they have kept their discovery a secret.

Atsuko thought over everything that had happened since they went into that tunnel. He thought that if someone was looking for them, they should probably stay away from there. “Opal, don’t you remember that guy who found us last week, you know, the man in the black clothes?” Atsuko asked. Opal shrugged. “Yeah, what about him?” she asked carelessly. “Didn’t he seem kind of suspicious?” He told her. “You mean dangerous? Nah, I don’t think so.” Opal remarked. “Why would you want to go back there when we’re not even supposed to in the first place? It’s even on private property!” Atsuko shouted.

Opal winced. “Okay, you’re overreacting, Atsuko. Jeez, I was just asking anyhow.” She said innocently. Atsuko sighed in frustration. “You know, if you want to go back there, why not take someone else with you?” he asked. Opal gasped. “How could you say that? We’re supposed to keep it a secret, remember?” she asked. “Sorry. It’s just… Hold on, you went down there by yourself, didn’t you!” Atsuko scowled. Opal shrugged. “Maybe,” she said quietly. “Anyway, I met this girl named Monique. She’s really nice, and really strong, too.”

“I’m listening.” Atsuko groaned. “Well, the mayor of her village said something about the Elemental Star Zones. It all sounds like her world is in some kind of trouble.” Opal explained. “Probably trouble we shouldn’t get involved in.” Atsuko warned. “But- we have to help her. She knows someone else who can help, too.” Opal said. “Then why do we have to help?” Atsuko asked. “I don’t know. I just told her about you and she said to bring you along the next time I went there.” Opal remarked.

A Thousand Windows [poem]

As I look upon a mirror, my reflection shows
But only in a mysterious fog of cold snow that will arise
Ice froze time, frosting the edges of the windows
That’s when I realized the pure truth behind all those lies

All of the theories go out the window and flies
Far away from our sights, forever staining our beliefs
Thus scorching the purposes of our useless relief’s
Rattling the glass and frame of the windows…

A thousand windows appear before us
Overlapping the line of true sight
Making us scream and start a fuss
Your words, I would never again cite

Those thousand windows, covering our hopes
Pushing us down those steep, snowy slopes
Time may stop, but I believe our thoughts will remain
Echoing through the future, our old beliefs stained

Crippling our original dreams and sights
Snapping the wings, we once took on flights
Frost took our spirits, and froze our truths
Waiting for the day to uncover and reveal them again

On that day, I hope that our reflections
Are cleared from the fog, and the snow will fall
So that our predictions were really held true
Except for the fact that they had frozen inside of us

After the night… the dawn arises
And all of those clothes, our disguises
Will disappear, clearing out the frosted fog
Allowing us to see our dreams and goals,
Once again, through a thousand windows

Deepening Call [Poem]

Sinking into my heart
It slices through and then it starts
It deepens, and it sickens me
When it's really the skies
deep in your eyes I want to see

Sinking into the dark abyss, it swallows all the light
Blurring all the good days, out of sight
Forgiveness is not free, even for as far as you can see
It is earned, and therefore deepens in
Refusing to leave, and grows like a treacherous sin

Sometimes life can be rewarding
But not when it's our past you're regarding
It's like speaking to an open field
Where it echoes back, and suddenly breaks your shield
It's unexpected, I know, but it's what you predicted

That when it deepens, the forgiveness in my heart
A chasm of reality splits open and then it restarts
Letting it sink in and deepen, and I just let it seep on in
Meanwhile I'm staring forward, where you are frozen behind me

Ahead of you is that sin, a broken shield
On a new path you will find,
that everything about you is revealed
And there's nothing you can do,
when everyone's calling you

That slice deepens in our hearts,
and we both feel
A stinging sense of forgiveness,
that we thought would never come

As if a demon would come and steal,
but we both used our shields
And defended our hearts with all our lives
As it deepened, that forgiveness...
while everyone is calling you.

Midnight Blade [continuation]

The next day, Mr. Kane introduced me to the promised traveling mercenary. We were standing outside of the office in the afternoon sunlight. Hayden was standing by my side again. The mercenary was a tall, notably thin man with muscular arms. He had calm, analytical eyes the color of jade which glowed in a mysterious way. His curly, indigo colored hair fell down to his chin. The clothes he wore mainly consisted of dark colors which complimented on his hair; a cape that only draped over one shoulder, a a weird jacket that split at the end, a simple cotton turtle-neck, pants, and laced-up army boots. The side of his arm that didn't have the cape was covered with one sleeve of his shirt. A long sword at his belt could be seen on one side, while on his back there was a strange-looking device that resembled a large boomerang with a sail.

I felt an odd sense of danger around him... It felt dangerous, but it also seemed that he was very protective and compassionate. It seemed I could trust him. "This is Ryuu Takashi. He'll be leading you out of harms way and to the Midnight Blade's sanctuary." Mr. Kane explained. Hayden and I both expectantly looked up at him. He gracefully bowed and stood up straight again, and we did too. I hoped he isn't mute, otherwise this journey will be harder than I thought.

"How old is he?" I asked bluntly. When you want to know something, I've learned to just ask it. Mr. Kane's face suddenly showed shock, as if he were afraid to insult Takashi-kun. But, Takashi-kun nodded gently, and said, "I'm... in my mid-thirties." I stared on at him. Hayden gave a sigh of relief for some reason.

"Well, anyways, do you have all of the supplies you will need?" Emil asked me. "Um, yeah Dad. I think... we're ready." I told him. He nodded. "Very well, then." He said. "Are they leaving now?" Shana asked Mr. Kane. "I'm afraid. They're good kids, so I believe we do not have to worry too much." He said confidently. Wow, if only he knew. Joking... I watched Hayden's parents walk over to him and each gave him a big warm hug. "Just... don't do anything I wouldn't do, son." His father told him. "Same as I. Please, make everyone here proud of you." His mother told him. He nodded. I smiled. He would, I knew it.

My parents also gave me a big hug, and told me to make them proud, too. My father also told me to remember what he had told me the day before, about time. "Don't worry, I won't forget." I said as a stubborn tear fell down my cheek. "Mom, I love you." I said, hugging her, "Thank you for everything." She laughed. "No, honey, thank you." She said.

After our goodbyes, we left our hometown in search of something we didn't have a clue about how powerful or dangerous it was, along with a man who we barely knew anything about. Little did I know that danger was in fact lurking around every nook and cranny, and it was as if possibly the whole world was out to get me and my impossible powers.
