30. Log Horizon OP - "Database"
And here comes the anime opening that I can't listen to without stopping what I'm doing to fist-pump. It has that much energy. Even though it's been quite a while since I've watched Log Horizon, this opening reminds me off all the reasons why I love it. It's hard to ignore the MMO action aspects, and that's what makes this anime - and this opening - so much fun.
29. xxxHolic OP - "19sai"
From the first time I read the first line - "Did lips pointed with poison just walk into my room?" - I was hooked on this opening. The visuals are so enchanting, and some of them still send chills down my spine. Not only that, but the music has a sensual, mysterious, yet funky vibe to it, and I find it completely fascinating. After all, this was the sing that helped me discover Suga Shikao. This opening has been one of my favorites for years, and I still say it deserves that title.
28. Mushishi Zoku Shou OP - "Shiver"
While this song doesn't mean as much to me as it used to, I still really love it, as well as this opening. The gentle, bittersweet tone of the song, as well as the snowy feel of the visuals perfectly match Mushishi. It makes me happy, and it's too relaxing and beautiful to be ignored as an opening.
27. Erased OP - "Re:Re:"
One of the best ways to make an opening stick in your mind is to make it change at the most crucial episode. This opening is probably the best example of that. Everyone who's seen probably still gets shivers at episode 11's opening. That particular use of this opening was so good, so chilling, that it's that transition that makes it place so high. Yeah, the visuals are great and the music is memorable, but that transition is what stuck with me the most about this opening.
26. Steins;Gate OP - "Hacking to the Gate"
I completely blame Geoff Thew for this. That anime/Youtuber (Mother's Basement) has changed the way I watch anime openings. Before I never quite saw what made this opening amazing, but after a few rewatches with new eyes, I realized just how amazing the art is. The music is great, too, but man... everything about that animation and everything. I fell in love with this opening once I saw it in a new light.
25. Death Parade OP - "Flyers"
Six million views. That's how many views this opening has, and the music video's not that far, either - almost five million views. This anime opening is just so catchy, so explosive, that it's no surprise that people keep coming back to it over and over again. This opening totally deserves it - it's been on many people's top lists, and my list is no exception.
24. Arslan Senki OP 1 - "These Are Not My Words, They’re Our Words"
Now for the opening to the show that made me fall in love with the epic fantasy genre in anime. Even though Arslan Senki has had new openings since then, it's still this one that brings back the excitement and wonder of the series the most. I find the lyrics fascinating, too. It all ties back to the joy of rediscovering fantasy, and why I love it all so much.
23. Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works OP 2 - "Brave Shine"
Some openings get on here due to pure quality, others get on here because I have a personal connection with them. This is one that's running on pure quality. Out of all the openings in the Fate franchise, this is the only one that's really stuck with me. It's no surprise, either - the animation is top notch, the music is gorgeous, and the overall production quality is through the roof. Ufotable, you've outdone yourself. Congratulations on making such an amazing opening.
22. Kuroshitsuji: Book of Circus ED - "Aoki Tsuki Michite"
I think I accidentally forgot about this one when I made last year's list. I mean, I must have, how could else could I have not put this beautiful piece on the list? This ending so very well shows how my favorite anime is - with symbolism like broken glass, darkness, tears, all to represent, of course, the fascinating relationship between Ciel and Sebastian.
21. The Seven Deadly Sins OP 2 - "The Seven Deadly Sins"
I've talked about the anime that made me fall in love with fantasy again, now time for me to talk about my favorite fantasy anime. You know, this opening was the entire reason I started watching this show in the first place. Even after I had watched it, I was completely obsessed with the song, especially the full version. The song still blows me away - it's that good. The animation is good, too, but it's not just the song and animation - it's how they both connect to the anime, how much it reminds me of the show I love so much.
