Chapter 16

I was a bit relieved that she didn’t faint or anything. I didn’t know what I would have done if she did that. It’s not like I could have caught her or anything.
“Well that went better then expected.” I looked over at Vera to see her sit down on the bed.
Vera seemed to go into deep thought so I didn’t want to disturb her. ‘Things just keep getting more interesting don’t they?’ I thought to myself as I looked out the window.
I heard the bed squeak so I looked back at the bed to see that Vera stood up again. “I think the laundry should be done.” She muttered. I figured it was more for herself then to me so I didn’t say anything to her.
I followed her down to the living room and went over to the couch as she went to the laundry room. It was nice that I didn’t have to hide from her mother so I had free range of the house once again.
I “sat” down on the couch and started to watch whatever show that Vera’s mother had playing on the tv. I guess it wasn’t too bad. It was a cop show and some of the characters were pretty funny from what I could tell.
“So you like NICS.” I turned to see Vera smiling down at me with a basket of clothing against her hip.
“Is that what it’s called? I guess. I’m more of a fantasy fan, but I don’t know what is on tv now a days.” I answered looking back at the screen.
“So like Dr. Who, and Merlin?” She asked and I looked back at her with a raised brow.
“What are those?” I asked.
“They’re syfy, fantasy shows. What about cartoons? Do you like that?” She questioned.
“Sorry for seeming like an idiot. I wasn’t really allowed to watch tv when I was little. I was allowed to watch Saturday morning cartoons then I was kicked outside to go and do something.” I told her.
“Oh like what?” She set the basket and sat down next to me on the couch.
“I liked to play soccer, or go to the pool and swim. Go for walks in the woods, climb up into the tree and draw…” I answered.
“Wait, wait, wait, you draw? Well use to draw?” She interrupted me.
“Yeah. I liked sitting up in the tree and daydreaming. I would draw things that came to mind, clouds, and flowers.” I stated.
