I'm SomeGuy, 29 years old, residing in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I've studied English Literature, Chinese Martial Arts, and am currently pursuing careers in writing - possibly even in the anime industry itself.
And I work for this site.
And you should be watching Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad.
Or watching Ranma 1/2.
Or learning about the Shinsengumi.
Or planning to visit Vancouver, The Best Place On Earth (actual marketing motto).
Here at the "Smallville" page, I have my personal blog where I'll post about anything and everything. If ya need me or otherwise need to know anything from/about me, here's where I'll be.
If you're really looking for my more professional, site-type stuff, you wanna head over my "Metropolis" world.

That said, this is the second half of that documentary I mentioned last week. The walking tour of Philadelphia includes the most emotional, most inspirational bits. As always, James Rolfe just radiates enthusiasm for his craft . . . so yeah, Rocky fans (or even if you're not), take a look:
Seriously, I need to visit Philadelphia some time . . .
Sadly, that's about the only interesting news from my end of things (and even then that's probably a stretch).
Everyone go poke them, give them birthday headbutts or something.
So yeah, Bossman, original James . . . happy birthday, you two. I imagine all of us are probably at least a little happy that the two of you found each other and made a couple websites or something.
New episode of House was last night. It was excellent with all sorts of fun new dramas to interest viewers. Also, though I no longer feel this is true considering how much gold took place throughout the episode, I wish I could say that the pre-title prologue was my favourite moment.
'Cause really, when you have a show finally airing new episodes after a lengthy Writer's Guild strike . . . there's no better way than to open with a picket line of striking nurses. That's freakin' awesome. Still, I do wonder if that means that the writers are either able to laugh at themselves or are trying to make some sort of statement . . . hmm . . . no matter, it was awesome all around.
Aside from that . . . my video card is really starting to piss me off. If anything's 3D-intensive like a game, it plays for about 10 minutes and then everything comes crashing down with messages of "error, unresponsive, was reset". I remember one time we thought it might've been dust in the video card fan, but I'm less sure about that . . . drivers are good and all, but yeah - could it just be dying?
Better get Stupid Ed on top of that one . . . though he generally just goes "get a new one!" Thanks, Stupid Ed . . .
That aside, I promoted 4 Fan Words today. For a group of 25-ish submissions, that ain't bad. Go writers, go!
Went up to Burnaby Mountain with the Shinsengumi-types. Did some flower-viewing, took some pictures in cosplay . . . and it rained the whole time.
But y'know what? It's okay, 'cause we freakin' have business cards now!!! Bwahaha . . . I'll bring 'em to all the cons we go to, it'll be great. Oh, true fact: the cards (both business cards and postcards) have our theOtaku.com URL on 'em, so y'know, good times! Hehe, it just needs to be August now, is all . . .
Today I need to take the car in for servicing; I also may or may not be helping a guy out with filming some fighting sequences (if I am, that'll be fun). But that's not so interesting.
What's far more interesting, I think, is that today is every single freakin' person's BIRTHDAY TODAY!
One's 23, the other's 18. Wish 'em both well and stuff 'cause they're awesome like that.
Aside from the character that made him globally famous, the guy is a really fun and inspired filmmaker. Nothing big yet and nothing that's gotten beyond online contests and local film festivals, but the man's got some crazy passion for his art.
So for the Philadelphia Film Festival, he made a documentary about all the Rocky sights in town - he only has part one up so far, but damn . . . it's cool.
(Watch this if you're a fan of the Rocky movies!)
Rocky movies and bad video games aside . . . I'unno, nothing's on fire, so I guess I'm doin' okay. Got a lot of work I'm not doing, though . . . I need to fix that . . .
