Evan Marks, Vampire

I put my weapons back into the lair and took a shower. But my new abilities and curses were too bewildering for me to focus. I washed myself down and went to brush my teeth. I looked into the mirror to realize, my reflection no longer existed. But Hannah’s did. She looked in amazement and ran downstairs. I spat out my toothpaste and ran after her.

“Hannah! No!”

I jumped towards her. To my amazement, I soared into her and took her down. I held her down with ease.

“It’s not what you think. Don’t tell dad.” I said.

She screamed and my dad ran in.

“What?” He said.

“Evan is-”

I covered her mouth.

“Evan?” asked my dad.

I took my hand off of her mouth.

“Evan’s a vampire.” She hollered.

“Is that true?” roared my dad.

I nodded and let her go.

“How are you holding up?” he asked

“Fine.”

“What about the hunger?”

“I quenched it.”

“How?” my dad questioned.

“I killed men that were trying to rape a young woman and drank their blood.” I admitted.

“Well, I guess it’s better than sucking the blood of a regular human being that didn’t do anything.” said my dad.

“I already considered it.”

Hannah had a stake and went to stab me. I grabbed her arm.

“Evan.” Mt dad said.

“I don’t want to die!” I pleaded.

“You won’t.” my dad answered.

“Why won’t you kill me?” I asked.

“Because you are my son. I can’t kill my own creation. Go to sleep. I believe you can control this.” my dad said.

I crushed the stake in my hand and went upstairs to my bed and fell asleep. When I woke up, I was on fire. I jumped out of bed and ran downstairs. The light seeped through the windows. I burned with such an intensity that I would’ve rather been killed last night. I crawled across the floor, screaming in pain.

“You need to sit in the light until the sun no longer kills you.” My mother said.

“Why?” I cried.

“That’s the only way you can go to school. I'm not home schooling you! ” My mom said.

I dragged myself onto the grass and laid down, taking the heat. I felt like my skin was searing off of me in hot piles of flesh. But I was completely fine on the outside. I struggled to stay in the grass, but I stayed. The burning subsided as I fought the light’s effects. After an hour, I was fine. I could now withstand the light and could go outside at any time. I was grateful and went inside to treat myself to some pancakes.

I wolfed them down and sat around.

“What should I do?” I hollered.

“I think you should test your limits.” said my mother.

“Alright. Let’s see what I can do.”

I walked into the garage and drove out onto the driveway. How strong is a vampire? I got out and put my arms underneath the car and hefted it up. I almost lost balance but I tossed the car up a bit higher and grabbed the bottom of it.
