She grabbed them and pulled me up onto my feet and then hugged me. I looked over her shoulder to see that Dracula’s body was still there, steam rising up from his body.
“You have a terrible choice in boyfriends.” I said.
She continued to hold me against her and I squeezed her around the waist for what seemed like a life time, her hair whipping against my face, so I could take in her sweet aroma.
“So does this mean I’m a Vampire too?” she asked.
I let her go. “Oh, yeah you are! Sorry!”
“It’s alright, if it made you live I’m okay with that.”
“But you can’t see your reflection any more.” I said.
“NO! Are you serious!?” she asked angrily.
“Yeah.” I winced as I said it.
She punched me. Really hard. In fact, I flew across the alley and laid still.
“Oh! Sorry!” she said.
“It’s alright, we’re immortal too.” I said.
I got up and walked back over to her. “So, do you want me to kill you?” I asked.
She was hesitant then said, “Well, if you want to die then I will because life without you would suck.”
“Good. You’ll spend lots of time with me.” I said, pulling her closely.
“Is that so?” she asked, playfully.
I kissed her on the lips and she kissed me back. It was the greatest kiss I’ve ever had from a girl. Heck, the only girl. I got my sword and put my arm around her as we walked out of the alley.
“So, I have to drink blood now huh?” she asked.
“Yeah, you can just drink mine.” I said.
“Eww! Why would I do that?” she asked, her fangs showing.
“It’s either me or a grubby psycho killer from the streets.”
“Okay, I’ll take you then. I’m feeling woozy, do I have to drink your blood now?”
“Uh, yeah.” I agreed.
I stuck out my neck.
“Eww! This is so gross! Do I have to?” asked Kelsey, who was obviously freaking out.
“It’s alright, in for two seconds then out, that’s all.” I said.
“I don’t want to!”
“Do you want to die?” I asked.
Without response, Kelsey bit me in the neck and drank my blood. She kept drinking as if she was dehydrated.
“Stop! Stop!” I said dizzy.
She pulled away. “Sorry! You actually taste good some how. Is that weird?”
“You have my blood on your mouth.” I said.
She took my sleeve and wiped it on my jacket. “Thanks.” I said.
“So now what?”
“Now, you have to survive in the sun.”
We continued to my car and drove through the rain. Did I make the right choice? Did I have to drink Kelsey's blood? Would I have been able to kill Dracula and keep her human? I'll never know. But I don't regret it. Her parents don't know she's a Vampire. But then again, who believes in Vampires?
