It's hot here.
Also, some kind of hot-key has activated itself on my laptop making typing a whole new kind of psychedelic experience. As such, this post will only last as long as I can go without freaking out and causing permanent and regrettable damage.
A lot of things happened this summer vacation. Of course, it's not over for another 2 weeks, but I'm kinda out of money for the time being. I haven't edited them yet, but I did take some pictures so hold on a bit longer!
I went to Odaiba to see the "life-size" original Gundam in all its 30th anniversary glory. I also went to summer Comiket with some girls I know and we saw a lot of really good cosplayers. They convinced me I should get back into it so it looks like this winter I'll be going as Lenalee!
Since I used up most of my summer holidaey on going to Tokyo a few times I've gotta sit around the office till school starts up again with the new kids. They suck. But I've got two iPods and a sketchbook so I'm getting a lot of work done.
It seems I'm acting more otaku recently. I've been watching an anime called K-On! It's pretty stupid. And moe. I hate moe. But there's only 13 episodes so I guess I'll finish it. I've been obsessing over Evangelion 2.0 again. I wonder if it's still in the theater....
...finally found shots of Asuka's test plugsuit and Mari's pink one....
"give me strength to be kind, to combine, all the good things in life that are so hard to find cause I have and I won't let them go like I do with my friends."
I took Stacey to the airport in Tokyo on Wednesday. She's gone now. Back to Hawaii. We took one last picture together on the train. It was exactly 2 years since the day we met.
"a slow strangle with your feet on the floor"
You know that saying "just delaying the inevitable"? It's not difficult to understand or anything, but........sometimes you have to let yourself do it I guess. I went to Akihabara and bought anime stuff. It was fun. Then I went and moshed to NIN live in the rain. It was more fun.
"we'll waltz like an army, for the fear of our pain"
We never actually said goodbye. She dragged me along when she had to give her speech at the office party. We didn't really stick together at either of the ALT goodbye parties. Our little 6 person reunion was anything but farewell-like. I spent the night at her place on Tuesday and helped with last minute cleaning and packing. She made me a picture album. I drew us as Nana and Hachi. A family friend showed up at the airport and wouldn't leave till after she'd boarded the plane. We've still been emailing each other every day.
People keep asking me how I'm doing, but I don't really have an answer.
"leave me alone, I'm in pain but I won't let you bandaid my wound. I am not at a stage where I can't seem to handle myself."
For the last time.
If they ever really did at all.
The world according to us:
"Sometimes, you just fall into pussy." - Mel
"Monkeys bang on rocks?" - Sarah
"What would Jesus do - if he was in a porno!" - Brian
"Can I order all the desserts?" - Stacey
"I love you guys, and not in a friendship way." - Pin
".............I'm going to kill you all." - Me
.......and today was a day just like any other......
Two years ago when Stacey and I first got to Shizuoka we made a promise. We'd go to a certain fireworks display together every year. Inevitably, the only time we went was the one during which we made that promise. Last year she was in Thailand & I went with Sarah. This year the city doesn't have enough money or something so they're not doing it at all. Not that it would matter since she'll be gone from Japan before the time they usually do it.
Still, we were determined to see some fire in the sky so we made a few plans. Last year we went with a big group up on the nearby "mountains" for a local show and it was pretty nice. When the night rolled around this year though, a huge amount of mist rolled in with it. Mist that was down to the ground. On top of the mountains that is. We were walking in it, sitting in it, doing pretty much everything but seeing. Sarah assured us that the fireworks were on though and 30 minutes after the scheduled time they started. It turned out something like this.
There was a solar eclipse earlier that day. But these pictures have nothing to do with it.
Unless you believe in occult occurrences......
It was kinda what I imagine being in a war zone to be like. Noise and colored lights from all directions, but none that you can predict or pinpoint.
So that was strike one.
But we weren't disappointed yet. It was a unique experience after all. And the few fireworks we could see were definitely over-appreciated. There was another display by the river scheduled 3 days later and which everyone was planning to go to. We could still look forward to that. And then it was canceled due to the river being out of control and sweeping away the launch platforms. Never heard that one before. So we went out and ate Thai and took purikura with some idiots we know. I can't show you those pictures though because apparently theO has a 4 pictures only code limiting these posts. I seriously need a new blogging site.....
Recently I've been feeling out of control. Things are happening too fast, just like last July. I seem to be managing it this year with compulsive cleaning bouts. Suddenly I feel as if I can't work or draw, or do anything at all if there's dirt around me. Yesterday it was the walls in my kitchen. Today, the sliding glass doors to my balcony. But as I scrubbed away at the glass I realized most of the dirt was actually on the outside. And not only was the glass dirty, there was dirt on all the metal framing. And in the track where the door slides. And between the door and the screen. And some of it's probably not dirt, but something more nasty like mold. My apartment's not especially new, but not that old either. I'm not too dirty I don't think. Messy maybe - there's a lot of stuff in this place - but not dangerously so. I have to go out and meet Sarah & Nicole now so I can't do the outside of the doors. Good thing too, I know I'll see all kinds of problems if I go out on the balcony.
Lucky we've got a 3 day weekend.
