So as some of you may know, there has been a very sleepy Greek god plaguing me for about a year now. Also, some of you may know that the CW currently has a show on called 'Valentine'. 'Valentine' is about four particular Greek gods who are in the business of setting up soul mates. The only character that makes an appearance in both my story and 'Valentine' is Eros. I get a little...perturbed every time he so much as talks. Eros in my head is so much different then the one on TV.
I guess what really has me depressed is that what my show would've been (I think it would translate the best into TV) and what 'Valentine' is totally polar opposites. Yes, both feature Greek gods struggling to assimilate into today's world, but other then that... I dunno. I mean, its an entertaining show. I'm somewhat of a media buff however, and I really don't see it getting past its first season.
What this all adds up to in my head is like, why even bother? If I ever tried to sell my idea to a TV studio or production company the chances of it getting picked up are zill. If this show fails or excels I'm pretty much screwed. My show is... would be more fitted for Showtime or HBO. A channel willing to spend the bucks because it'd kinda be a period piece, more like 'Rome' then 'Valentine'.
Ugh! Poor Insomnis, never gonna see the light of day... Not that he would've probably had any fighting chance to begin with...
