A knock interrupted what he was about to say. The door opened, a skinny young man with freckles came in bowing his head. “Yes what is it?” Sai said distantly.
“Uh…I have an urgent message for Lord Jaden.”
He leaned away from the wall and took the folded envelope from the nervous boy. “Thank you.” The boy looked relieved when he left with a gentle click of the door.
Ingelosi,
There is news of the soldiers. Meet us on the border of your home.
Gavel
He crumpled the note and threw it in the fire. “Bad news?” Sai asked.
Taking a breath in and letting it out he answered. “Perhaps. I would continue gathering more recruits. The king may have need of them.”
He opened the door to leave when Sai said. “Are your friends having a change of heart?”
“No, but their problem might become ours.” Then he left.

The thick wet jungle hid their presence as the three Rizel watched while two plumes of smoke rose over the horizon. The evidence of a massive amount of soldiers had gone through was everywhere they looked.
“She’s gathering more and more.” The large Rizel said his white hair glowing in the shadows.
“Soon even our tribes will be in danger.” The smaller one said sounding angry.
The third Rizel was crouched on the branch just above them his yellow eyes focused on the smoke billowing up to the clouds. “There is no choice. Ingelosi is waiting. Let’s go.” Jumping down, all three Rizel disappeared back into the jungle.
