I smelt the air and I knew where he was headed. He was going west to see Regis. He was still attached to Regis after all of these years? Wow, guess he can hold a grudge as long as a friendship. I didn’t want to follow him because either it would end in a showdown or he would join Regis’ coven and I’d never see him again; not good.
Kiley looked like she would cry so I went over to her and held her close in my arms. “Come on Kiley just let it out.” I heard my shirt ripping but I ignored it. But then I remember it was my favorite shirt so I gently pulled her away to take my shirt off so she couldn’t kill it anymore. She squeezed me and she dug her nails into my back, OW, I felt my cold blood running down my back.
“Why did he leave, doesn’t he know that we love him, and that we need him more than anything, how could he do this to me?!” She sobbed into my stony chest. I just let her cry into my chest for a few hours.
It was maybe midnight or so when my body was free to go up to my room. The brown walls where covered in my collection of books from the 8th century and they weren’t very accurate with the logical areas. My room smelled like the books it contained with a hint of cinnamon buns, yum, and I went over to my bookcase next to my bed and I pulled out one of the older books and opened it. Ugg… I had already read it over a hundred times. Frustrated, I got up so I could check out some other books that I haven’t read yet, possibly, but turns out I had so I looked into the mirror on my door and started to play with my black hair, which is completely unnecessary, but it’s an unavoidable human habit. My eyes were getting to be REALLY dark so I probably should go artic wolf hunting for the safety of all humans at Hampton high.
I stared at my hair completely unhappy with it so I used my hand to ruffle it around and it fell in front of my eyes. Then BAM, Kiley opened my door and smacked me right in the face. Wow how to surprise a vampire like me… well she did it. “Oops, sorry Marcus!” She said through her tears “Didn’t mean to startle you… how did I do that?” She looked at me and she cocked her head to one side waiting for my answer. I blushed a little bit, “I was absorbed in my hair.” She giggled at my answer and she covered her mouth with her hand, a girl habit.
“But your hair is like, so perfect you don’t need to do anything to it you teenage moron!” She pushed my hair back into place. “Yea well tell that to my human habits.” She giggled a bit and looked at my bare chest, “put a shirt on please.” She said turning her head away like she didn’t like it… she did. “What you don’t like these granite hard abs?” I said with a sarcastic tone as I patted my stomach, to prove my point, and I heard a little ringing sound coming from deep within my stomach. Cool.
She playfully punched me in the ribs and gave me a hug. “Don’t you ever leave me Marcus.”
“Wouldn’t dream of it,” I kissed her head and I left my head there counting the seconds go by in silence. I wondered why couldn’t all vampires be as understanding and sweet as Kiley, but everyone else drank human blood so whatever, never mind I’ll never find anyone like her in my lifetime well my undead time as I like to call it.
I groaned a little to myself as I thought of school for the next few days. Eh, I’ll skip and go hunting, better safe than sorry or a huge massacre on the conscious.
