I got off the bus and looked around. It was nice to be back to school even if the classes were boring. I headed to my dorm after the entrance ceremony. I smiled as I looked at the name sign on the door. I was with Ai again which was goood. I don’t think the kid would do well if I wasn’t his partner. I knocked on the door to be polite.
"Come in already I know it's you.” He said through the door. I shook my head, the kid either had a great sense of smell or heard me coming. I opened the door and tossed my bag at the foot of my bed. Seems the kid was already set up.
"Sup kiddo?" I asked sitting on the edge of the bed. He just grumbled and rolled over. I sighed slightly. "It's almost night time. Are you gonna be ok?" I asked him, he just nodded. "I'll be waiting outside the room. Scratch at the door when you are ready.” I grabbed my bag and headed out and leaned against the wall. I’ve once watched him change and I would never want to do it again. It looked painful and I’m sure it was. The kid had it rough, He wasn’t born a monster he was changed and that was one of the hardest thing. No one accepted him and tended to laugh at him. I felt bad for him and often glared at the people who did this when I was with him. He was like a little brother to me and if someone hurt him I would surely hurt them.
I stretched as I changed over and my wings came out of my back. I was so use to my wings ripping through my back that it was just numb to me now.
I heard a scratching at the door and I opened it. Ai came padding out and we headed to class.
Class was boring as always. Sensei was saying something about killing some animal monsters. Ai didn’t seem to like that.
I stretched as everyone headed out of the classroom to the bus. Ai hated the bus but that was the only place to get anywhere. We all got off the bus and looked around looking at the tanuki. There was a lot of them and they all seemed to be ignoring us at the moment. Sensei explained why we had to kill the monsters to Ai because he started complaining. I just shrugged. If the mission was going to be as simple as this then I really didn’t care. I wanted to get to the hard ones that was worth fighting.
We split up into our teams and headed out to kill the tanuki. I slung my long sword onto my shoulder and looked at Ai. “ Well pup you ready to get at it?”
