Tales of Okuri Tale 3 of 7 Eliminating the Competition

Okuri laughed, enjoying the turmoil occurring around him. His three opponents attempted to attack again, simultaneously this time, but it was useless, and Okuri gave them all a roundhouse kick to the head. They flew, flipping backwards several times, and landed hard. Okuri, not missing an opportunity to strike, jumped in the air and shouted “Twisting Fang of the Wind Wolf!” His body spun like a conical drill, and soon he flew through the air in the center of a small whirlwind. He came down hard on his opponents, destroying their armor.

Okuri stopped spinning and landed softly on the ground. Isamu, although it was difficult, turned his head so that he was looking into his opponent’s eyes. They did not show any sign of mercy to him. If they could speak in words, they might have said “I’m surprised you’ve survived this long. Where do you find in yourself to continue fighting? Especially when you know you can’t win?” But they spoke no such words. They only conveyed the message “You are going to die!”

Okuri stepped forward and Isamu thrust Kusanagi into his chest. Perhaps on a human, it would have proved a fatal blow, puncturing his lungs and piercing his heart. But Okuri was not human. Kusanagi only made it as far as the muscle layer and stopped there. Okuri kicked Isamu in the head, grinning with pleasure as he did so.

The 3 leaders stood, beaten and bloody, before Okuri. He laughed at them, laughed at their weakness, their insolence and their broken spirits. His tails went over his right shoulder and around his waist, similar to the arm motion of drawing a sword. Without warning, he spun 180° and his tails drew his Nodachi from thin air, slashing his opponents. He then brought his Nodachi into the single, 3 meter form that proved so much more effective at taking multiple heads in a single swing. He turned his head, looking over his shoulder. His smile turned more sadistic than it had been at any point in the last 3 years. He raised his blade and swung around, severing the heads of his opponents.
