Dead End

As he continued past them and began locking the doors from the inside, Shogo started towards the rooftop. There was something incredibly ominous about the situation, and it was almost funny; he hadn’t even decided on who his next victim would be yet. What a shame…

Whilst climbing up one of the many ladders to the roof, he began to think to himself. I didn’t give it a proper ending, did I? There was a very logical way out- that did not include death- and he was taking it, right now. He began to sing to himself as the two fought below. “Now, one, two, three! We shall become one chain. Now, one, two, three! We shake ourselves of death…” He paused for a moment, casting a glance below impassively. “One, two, three! We shall become one chain. Now, one, two, three! We shake ourselves of death. We'll snatch the mira-cle that's thirsting… for survival game that is called…the eraser game...

He continued to hum as he climbed, though he looked down far too quickly. Buriel had made too much headway; the sound from the far distance that threw Soshi off was his downfall- the sound of Shogo singing. The long haired shinobi’s eyes widened slightly; in that exact moment of hesitation, Buriel’s katana sliced a long, deep cut across Soshi’s shoulder that stretched all the way to his opposite hip. Blood sprayed out like a sprinkler; Buriel’s cheeks flushed with delight upon seeing it, and Soshi fell backwards, his fist clenching and unclenching as his eyelids began to lower, his head lolling to the side as he quickly slipped out of consciousness.

Buriel raised his katana over the body. “Good night, boy.”

A bullet nicked the sword before it could actually go anywhere and hit it in such a way that it propelled the weapon across the floor, leaving Buriel’s hands empty.

The yandere raised his head to look at Shogo, showing the blonde large brown eyes that saw but did not see at the exact same time, before stepping over the young man’s body and starting for the ladder.

Shogo dropped the gun in his hand on Buriel’s head emotionlessly, though this only seemed to delay him for a moment; within seconds Buriel was upon him, his hand tightly gripping the blonde’s leg to drag him down.

Still unfazed by the danger he was probably in, Shogo pulled a kunai out of his pocket and swiftly sliced into the wall beside him before dropping just far enough to cut into the yandere’s hand, which caused him to let go of the ladder and become momentarily disoriented, an action that allowed Shogo to carry on.

He continued until he reached the rooftop as he’d originally planned and locked the door behind him.
