“Done!” I stood up and smiled. “How’s that?” I asked.

“Thank you.” He looked up at me.

“Uh oh. Someone got into it good didn’t he?” I looked over and saw Lee peeking around the corner with a clear smirk. Before I could open my mouth Snow was stomping over toward him.

“I saved your ass so don’t even start with me!”

“Language small child, you wouldn’t want your mouth washed out with soap now would you?” Lee asked.

“I’ll turn you into minced meat!” Snow growled and Lee plucked him up and kept him at arms length while Snow struggled. I started walking over to defend Snow but then Lee smiled a little.

“Thank you Snow, really. I thought I was going to be kept there forever.” Snow stopped and blinked.

“…s-stop being all dramatic.” Snow muttered and looked away. Lee chuckled and sat him down.

“Alright then. So Candy, you going to babysit tonight or are you free?” He winked at me with a sly smile.

“Why you little tadpole! I’ll kill you!” Snow turned into a cub and nipped at Lee’s ankles. I shook my head, and watched Lee hop around trying to avoid Snow. It was sweet though, knowing Snow was so protective. And from the sound of it, wanted me to himself. I wasn’t sure how to feel about that exactly. Maybe when he switches back to his normal self we could talk about it more. “…and scram!” I heard snow and he changed back to his kid self as Lee laughed and ran off.

“Aw, my hero.” I picked him up and cuddled him while chuckling.

“H-He has no right to you.” He said. I put him on my hip and held him with one arm.

“That’s right. I decide that.” I said. “Lets go get a snack ok? It’ll hold us over until dinner.”

“Ok!” He smiled. We headed to the kitchen and I peeked in. I saw a few sprites floating around and making food. It smelled wonderful and one of them came up to me and tipped their head.

“Can we have a snack? Something small please?” I asked. They nodded and got me a couple apples.

“Thank you.” Snow said and the sprite smiled and went back to cooking. I left to allow them to work in peace and sat Snow down and handed him an apple. I took a big bite of mine and I reached down for his hand, which he seemed to happily take.

“Amora didn’t go easy on you this time, did she?” I glanced up and saw Light and Vic in front of us. They seemed to be together a lot.

“No, she didn’t…” Snow’s ears fell and he looked down.

“But thank you anyway.” Light said.

“Y-Yeah, thank you.” Vic stuttered a little, but spoke up.

“I was just, trying to protect my family…” Snow said softly.

“Don’t get sappy on us now.” I jumped when Talon came up behind me and I sighed and ate more of my apple. “Dinner will be ready soon. We should all go sit down.”

“But…” Snow started.

“Come on.” He picked Snow up who started to struggle and argue again. I walked behind with Light and Vic.

“He sure hates getting picked up.” I said.

“His own personal hell of a punishment.” Light chuckled. “But I’m sure he’s at least a little happy. You know, Talon was ordered to kill Snow if he ever got out of control like that and couldn’t come back.”

“R-Really?” I asked softly.

“Yes, s-so, thank you too.” Vic said.

“If you hadn’t been there, I don’t think Snow would be here.” Light said. I nodded, and then looked around.

“Where’s Lee?” I wondered out loud.

“Pool.” Vic answered.

“Ok, I’ll go get him, see you in a few!” I said and then ran off outside and sure enough, Lee was swimming around. “Hey water dweller, come on its time for dinner.” I said and held my hand out for him. He took it and then pulled hard, and I screamed and hit the water. This was bad. I couldn’t swim.
