Regarding Conduct Around The Site:
All these different facets bleed back and forth into one another. Multiple accounts will allow for more subscribers and more favourites and hugs. Multiple accounts also allow for more voices to further your own plans and agendas.
Going back to the early days of Version Vibrant when Adam was asking members to suggest Worlds to promote, it was odd to see such a massive turnout all promoting Kohaku-Dono’s “Appreciation” World that had been active for all of one day. The post as is is now a little bare, being that most of the accounts that had nominated “Appreciation” have since been deleted for being shell accounts (either by site moderators or by TwoFacedLullaby herself), but that was how it was then.
I’ll be getting back to the Appreciation World later.
Other moments around the site include a rather unfortunate moment regarding backseat moderating involving reports of stolen/plagiarized/traced artwork on the site. TwoFaceLullaby saw a member wrongfully popular for copied artwork and reported it as such. Ultimately, the case was true and the piece of artwork was reviewed extensively.
However, in the time it took moderators to research this claim about the artwork, TwoFaceLullaby grew impatient, feeling that we were ignoring her reports because of “her history with the site”. In response, she made this post essentially rallying other members to gang-report this single piece of artwork.
One report is enough to kill a stolen piece of art. Multiple reports for the same artwork lead to more time to clear out reports – time that could be better spent handling said reports. Further, when those same reports mention that they “heard about this from TwoFacedLullaby”… it isn’t especially well appreciated by the moderators. Our head moderator even told her as such, and we thought that would be the end of it.
Then, a couple weeks later, this happens. This time, the words are less of “Report this person now!”, but “I’m not telling you to report this person, but…”. Again, head moderator had to step in, and again, we thought that would be the end of it.
Indeed, there’s an irony to being such a crusader for fair play and equality with the site, all things considering… but I digress…
Last month, a post came up in the Fan Words queue from TwoFacedLullaby. A post about why we need a featured artists feature on the site to promote good but less-popular artists.
Ultimately, the sentiment rings the exact same as with the art thief posts: “Some people are wrongly popular over other members.” The fix is that there needs to be a group of artists selecting nice pieces of art to be shown on the front page rather than what the majority of people on the site are actually browsing. It’s true, sometimes it seems regretful that the front page will always feature artwork from Naruto or Bleach, but it can’t be helped; that’s what people are looking at.
The fact that these instances keep coming up – that staff and moderators keep seeing her name popping up around all things controversial in nature – has done little to endear TwoFacedLullaby to many of us.
