Kingdom Hearts 3D News

Okay it has been awhile but we have news and it is my duty to put on my Clark Kent glasses and report. The Tokyo Game Show was last week so there’s a bunch of new information about KH3D and I feel like we should break this down the good ‘ol fashion way. A list!

The game takes place after KH2.
Oh Riku has a haircut!
Sora and Riku are off to take their MoM (Mark of Mastery) exam with Yen Sid.
Yen Sid says “Let’s open the keyhole of sleep. If you return back to this place, then I will consider you Masters.”
Sora and Riku get de-aged with new outfits. Oh and apparently they forgot how to fight… again.
Sora goes to Traverse Town which gets two new districts.
Also Neku from The World Ends With You meets Sora in Traverse Town.
Meanwhile we get to see that Riku meets up with Quasimodo and Esmeralda.
The new monsters are named Dream Eaters. There are two kinds; ones that fight alongside of you (Spirits) and the bad guys of the game (Nightmares).
Okay so apparently there are three types of worlds. There are worlds that are in light and worlds in darkness. THEN there are worlds that are in sleep, and these worlds are where KH3D takes place. So the game is like a collective dream? Anyhoo you can wake these worlds up and restore them to their original form.
So with sleep being a theme in this game and the MoM there is a connection to BBS.
Braig! I don’t know how he fits in but apparently Even and Ienzo are there too with Xehanort getting a keyblade.
3D is utilized in the game and even in 2D apparently you can make your eyes tired/get dizzy so you can’t marathon it. Nomura says the cut scenes should be watched in 3D because what I need in my life is Sora popping out at me. Also that new side panel/nub thing for the 3DS is used as well.
Anyhoo it will be released in spring 2012 in Japan which means we should expect to see it state-side in the fall or winter.

More Writing Stuff

I'm decided last Monday that I wanted to write something for 8/13 (aka Akuroku day). I... I so didn't make the deadline but I've been plowing through. So far I'm up to about 11,000 words (~22 pages with not a lot of dialogue), which is the fasted I've ever written ANYTHING in my entire life time and... Axel hasn't even come in yet. I KNOW! Here's some goals I have for this fic:

Actually have Roxas sound like a boy
Actually writing Roxas as a 15 year old (to me there's a HUGE difference from being 15/16/17)
Explore one of my favorite bits of KH magic, aka the fact that Roxas' power is light and Axel's is fire
Not jumping in with Axel too quickly
Following along my basic Roxas story flow which mirrors the first 6 days in T.T.
Attempt to make a realistic parallel KH world.
Fantasy elements, which I've never done before

So far I think I've accomplished most of that. Specially with the Axel bit (WHY HASN'T HE BEEN INTRODUCED YET? IF IT TAKES 12K WORDS TO GET TO AXEL... HOW LONG WILL THIS NIGHTMARE LAST?!) My goal was to be upwards of 20k words... but I'm probably looking at 30k-ish now. Which means if I keep up at this pace I'll be done by next week. Right now the story is taking a bit of an unexpected turn, somewhat spurred on by a conversation I had with my little sister while playing through the 4th day.

Chances are... I will post this up if you guys show a hint of interest. For those of you who maybe tempted to throw a hint out at me... remember that first bit when I said it was originally being written for 8/13 ...so there'll eventually be some man-loving (though I can almost guarantee no sex because 1. Roxas is 15 and 2. I don't like writing sex scenes). So... hint if you're interested.

Re:Chain of Memories is a reworking of the GBA game, Chain of Memories. You play as Sora as you battle your way through Castle Oblivion searching for your friend Riku and the King.
Missed the GBA game, got a PS2 and nothing to do with it, have a deep love for all things Kingdom Hearts? Then this game is for you!

358/2 Rant

Somebody is out there mocking me right now. Some wig at Square Enix knows just the right buttons to push. Oh, they knew I would hate Xion, so they throw this at my face and make me go all '!(*&@^^#(&@)*@' so that I'm foreced to buy the game. They know I can't resist Sad!Roxas... -hugs plushie-
