...When there's nothing to do
Title comes from PDA by Interpol. The song is featured in Rock Band 2, so it inherently reminds me of Dare. :V
BAM.
WHEN SUDDENLY, COLORED PENCILS. I decided to pull out my colored pencils for the first time since January. GAH. I actually started coloring this last month not long after I sketched and inked it, but Dare's plaid shirt was getting on my nerves... And then I somehow managed to finish it this week. 8D
I wasn't going to enter this in a challenge, but I saw Moka's "OC Month" challenge and remembered the old days... and figured I'd enter. xD

Dare Cromwell is the bassist and newest member of the not-exactly-known local band Something Impossible. People tend to see him as a person who's "high on life"; he tries to get all the enjoyment he can out of an ordinary suburban life. His mottos are "For the sake of people throwing away their lives, I've got to live mine" and "You've gotta be good to make up for the bad." Despite his energetic personality, he's a very "by the book" person who is against rule-breaking, drugs/etc, and disobeying orders. He aims to live his life in the safest, most agreeable, yet still enjoyable way.
He has a crush on Loyal, the drummer for Something Impossible. Somehow her eccentricities and quirky tendencies have charmed him.

ABRUPT END!

Anyway, why did I draw Dare all of a sudden, you ask? Well, I was playing Rock Band 2 about a month ago. If some of you have forgotten, Dare is one of the characters I made for the video game. While I was playing last month, I dressed him up in this blue plaid jacket-thing, and kind of wanted to draw it... and so I did! WOO. How exciting. Since I had just been playing the game when I sketched this, his bangs came out more like they look in the game rather than how I normally draw them. :Y So if you noticed that, that's the reason why his bangs look sort of different.
So uh... I did a background because I'm insane. BLUHBLUH I hate drawing backgrounds. ;A; Well, I hate coloring them actually. Drawing them isn't always a big deal. BUT YEAH, expect not to see many backgrounds in the future, because I'm all backgroun'd out. "orz I think it took longer to do the background than to color Dare. But hey, I learned some new/different coloring techniques when doing this, so YAY. Overall I'm pretty happy with how this came out. ...though I think Dare's bass looks a little too big. HE'S SHORT, OKAY
And so, there's that. Thanks for reading/viewing/etc! :D
Dedicated to Moka for making the challenge! C: Sorry for the ridiculously long footnotes. xD;
