I don’t believe it. She called me a bastard! I thought after the game, of which Slytherin lost. She didn’t seem like she was being sarcastic, either. Not that she usually uses sarcasm, but still. She looked like she wanted to kill me, which I know she doesn’t. All of my reasoning still didn’t explain why she was so hostile.
Lucky for me, I ran into her later. Well, sort of. I saw her and was about to call out to her, when I saw her talking to another guy. Someone that she clearly knew from before and probably knew well, judging from the fact that she wasn’t yelling and was surprisingly happy.
I couldn’t tell what they were saying, but seeing them together really ticked me off. The blue-haired guy was someone I’d never seen before and looked to be a Ravenclaw. I hate Ravenclaws. With a passion.
“...haven’t seen ya in a while, Kimi.” He said as they were walking toward me. “Missed ya, ya know.”
“Really? I actually didn’t even recognize you! You’ve changed so much!” She smiled, slightly embarrassed.
“Yeah, I know. I thought you wouldn’t.” That guy seemed intent on irritating me as he casually ruffled her hair like only I do. “After all, I’m finally taller than you are.”
“It wasn’t so much that you’re taller; it’s the fact you dyed your hair freaking BLUE and decided to grow it out into a ponytail.” Laughing, she playfully tugged on his obvious busy ponytail. How could she do something like that so easily?! Around me, she always is defensive, violent, in a constant bad mood, and acts as if she hates me! Yet around that guy she is completely calm and is actually laughing! I can’t even make her laugh! How the hell does he do that?
The Ravenclaw nudged her and whispered something in the ear, while pointing at me. Trying my best to not punch him in the face, I sauntered up to the two of them with my usual confidence. Though I didn’t intend for this, a surprising chill worked its way into my voice. “Hello, Juliet. Talking about me with your new toy?”
“He has a name, you know.” She snapped, disdain in her eyes and a scowl on her lips.
“’ey, Kimi, no need t’ get so mad.” The Ravenclaw held out his fingerless-gloved hand for a handshake. “’Name’s Anluan O’Rylie. I’m a recent transfer from America. Nice t’ meetcha!”
“Likewise.” I turned my attention from the still outstretched hand to the object of my affection. “You should know that gossip is such a foul thing and it shouldn’t come out of your beautiful lips.” Despite her having another scowl on her face, it was as red as a fresh rose.
“Shut up!” Once again she thwarted my plans by storming away and dragging Anluan with her. Tch. Whatever. She doesn’t see anything in him. Sooner or later, she’ll come back to me. They always do.
