“I am sorry for your misfortune your majesty, but we are here to speak with you about the treaty.” Gavel spoke up.
The prince straightened and nodded. “Of course. Please this way.” He motioned to a door to the right of the throne room. It was a smaller room but still larger than most common rooms of any inn in Alura. Golden inlaid leaves decorated the walls and the table in the center was large and oval with the north star carved in it. The north star was a symbol for enlightenment. The words around it written in the ancient language read. ‘Light guides us to peace, knowledge guides us to light, civility guides us to knowledge, love and resolve begin it all.’
As they all sat, a servant poured wine for them. “Now.” The prince began. “First, I can see there is something on your mind Jaden.” He watched the servants leave.
“I’ve told you of the massing army of Rizel.” The prince nodded remembering helping Jaden to convince his father to consider the treaty. “The tribes are systematically being forcibly absorbed into it.”
The prince sat forward pressing his fingertips together in thought. “I’m sorry but I don’t see how this changes anything. My father insists that the Rizel problems are their own. I wish I could help.”
Jaden looked at Gavel. “But your highness. I believe that the soldiers are planning to attack Alura.”
“Have you proof?” The prince asked intently.
“Our scouts have found their main camp twenty miles south of the border, in a valley heavily guarded.” Krogh said.
“They have been spotted watching the border on many occasions.” Pippen put in.
