You'd better just go buy a sketchbook

Mood: Tired

My sketchbook fell apart and was a few pages away from being full, so I made one out of a clothing gift box from Kohl's, copy paper, and dental floss. I'm never doing it again(meaning I'll probably make another one over the Summer when this one runs out). I painted the cover with a thin layer of acrylic black paint and glued a cardboard cutout of the power/standby symbol(my new trademark for cover's of sketchbooks; originated from needing to quickly identify the right side up/front of my sketchbook at first grab).

It's pretty decent, I'd suggest making at least one sketchbook in your life. But if you don't have the patience, or you tend to have crappy first tries like I do, buy a new sketchbook.

Safety pins apparently come in industrial sizes too. I figured this would make more of an impact as a video rather than a comic, but maybe I'll make it into a comic later.

tumblr and Some Goals

Yeah, I've had one for a while, but I've been steadily been using it more, mainly to post comics and art that...I already post here. But if you have one of those, drop by, maybe subscribe and I'll do the same to you =)

So, I've decided to do one drawing a day until Christmas. So far, it's working out. I think after a week or two it'll become automatic. I used to be able to draw every day without thinking but it's getting harder and harder to focus and/or be creative. So, to speed up my drawing time and to overall get better I've been just using my friends' pictures as references to convert into manga form. So far it's been working, and I had a little bit of creativity in my newest upload of Calvin and his cat/kitten, Henrik. And sometimes I'm too lazy to draw out G33K!! Offline, so I've just been noting them in my sketchbook to draw later...I'll get around to it eventually, lol.

I'm still waiting on the new Wacom tablet that my dad promised me before this semester started. Gui was able to get Manga Studio on my computer, so I really really want to use it so I can start making G33K!! Until then, I'll brush up on my drawing skills.

Making an iPhone game =)

So, last Summer my boyfriend and I started planning a game for the iPhone--he'd do the programming and I'd do the graphics(when the game's finished I can use it in my portfolio and resume!). It should be done and out by Christmas, so keep an eye out for it!!

On another note, working on my website/online portfolio design again. It's a crappy draft but the main idea is there. When I do the final design I'll digitally draw it so that it still has that hand-drawn quality but looks more professional. What do you think so far?

Comic Soon!

Finally getting a new computer, it's coming in Monday or Tuesday <3 I just got a new set of pens to use for inking(I'm in love with my brush pen), but digital inking makes me feel less scared of mistakes. Same thing with colouring.

Finished another page of the comic yesterday, planning on 2 more today. That is all.
