The awesome ItachiSasuke got me a lovely sketchbook for Christmas and I've started by doing realism studies in pencil sketches on the first few pages :)
SO I have to explain a lot of things first:
Yes I saw The Desolation of Smaug in 3D at the theater. Yes I was disappointed in the first Hobbit movie last year, but I'm glad I saw this 2nd one!! I enjoyed it much more!
As for these sketches, they span across four pages. The first page of doodles is situated in the left top corner. The second page is in right top corner, 3rd in the bottom left, and fourth in the bottom right. I believe my weakest page was page 3 and surprise, its mostly drawings of Tauriel XD
Some of the sketches turned out more semi-realistic then the ref pictures or just plain bad (I'm learning and experimenting with different techniques^^)
And btw the Kili waist-up doodle was mainly for practice on his outfit design, not his face xD though if I had been focusing on his face, I'd of failed anyway. He is sooooo hard to draw. But yeah, I'm all Hobbit-inspired so expect to see more character doodles soon actually including Bilbo next time. Its fun to do these sketches and I'd love to hear what you think^^
Dedicated to two people: Aryia and ItachiSasuke!!
Aryia because she enjoyed the Hobbit 2 as well and pretty much convinced me with her good review to watch it ;)
ItachiSasuke because she got me the sketchbook and she is super inspiring too! <3
Both because they were amazing to work beside as hosts of this year's Secret Santa Fan Art event!! Thankyou girls!
Drawn in mechanical .03 and .05 pencil~
