“They leave first thing in the morning, Sai is preparing them now.” He said in anticipation of Jaden’s request.
He nodded. “I’m going.”
“This was just a prod. They left most of your people alive on purpose to goad you into a fight. If she meant to kill your people they would be dead.” Gavel said soberly.
“If she wants a fight.” The prince said angrily. “She’ll get one.”

Shouting woke her making her shoot out of bed and run to see what was happening. There were women all rushing down the halls, she saw Clara directing them. “What’s going on?” Lilly asked avoiding the women rushing past her.
“There’s been an attack and we have wounded coming into the city.”
Her breath caught. “I want to help.”
Clara stopped a moment then nodded. “Get dressed and meet me downstairs.”
When she got down the stairs mistress Clara was giving orders to the kitchen cooks to boil water and servants to find more bandages. When she saw Lilly she nodded. “Alright let’s go. We have a makeshift infirmary set up in the city square, it’s the only place with enough room. Tents are being set up as we speak.” She said as they walked briskly out of the castle and towards the center of the city. “I’m going to need your help with the wounded. Do whatever you’re asked to do and don’t argue or I’ll send you away.” Mistress Clara stopped a moment to fix Lilly in her gaze. “There are allot of people in pain and many of them may die. Are you sure you want to do this?”
