~Promise Me~

Note: This is not an actual Fan fiction, but it is a work of fiction by me~ Enjoy<3 It's very long. XD

"Promise me we'll be together forever..."
"I promise."
An innocent promise between two children...who knew that it would cause so much trouble?

Once upon a time…a man loved a woman, which is how most stories start. The man and woman were so much in love. They shared this love by giving the world a beautiful baby girl. She had spirals of brown on her head and warm brown eyes and dimples on her cheeks. They named her Chiyo. They longed to give Chiyo a sibling, but could not have any other children. Two years past when a miracle occurred. A little caramel colored foundling was left at their door step. They named her Amira, because they joked about her being a lost Princess.

But of course like all stories they cannot remain happy. When Chiyo turned six her mother died from an illness. It was not long after that her father remarried. He married a young woman who had a daughter who was a year younger than Amira, named Ellie. The three girls, who were not sisters by blood were the best of friends. Though, Ellie and her mother had a secret.
Now…this is where our story truly begins.

It was the day before Chiyo’s 18th birthday. She had grown to be a beautiful young lady and was very popular among the villagers. Her two sisters were also popular was well. They were the three most sought after girls in the village. Anyways…Since Chiyo was turning 18 she would be legally allowed to be married off by her father, so he was busy looking for the perfect suitor. Ellie was off planning something secret with her mother…So, Chiyo and Amira were left alone to cause mischief.

“Let’s sneak out tonight!” Amira said.

“But Amiraaaaa! We’re not allowed to go out at night. It’s too dangerous.”

“OH PISH….It is not! I’ve done it many times.”

Chiyo shook her head in disbelief.

“Come on Chiiiii….It might be out last night of fun!”

Chiyo relented.

“Alright fine….”

“YES!” Amira cheered.

Ellie sighed.

“Mama…why are we putting up so many wards?” she asked her mother.

“A young witchling needs to know how to do this…so you must practice.”

Ellie sighed and shook her blonde head. It was so boring….She wanted to do fun spells. She also did not understand why she was putting up so many vampire wards…

She paused to cast a ward on Chiyo’s room…but moved on. If anyone was safe from vampires….it was Chiyo.

That night Amira rested on Chiyo’s bed as Chiyo was sewing. It was customary for a girl to be skilled at sewing and cooking, which Chiyo was. Chiyo was adding the finishing touches on Ellie’s coming out party. She was 15 now and would be presented to society in a few weeks.
“Do you think Ellie will like it?” Chiyo asked.
“She’ll love it!” Amira said.
Chiyo ran her fingers along the hem.
“Do you think mom would approve of Dad rushing to marry me off?”
Amira sat up and looked at Chiyo.

“I’m not sure…I don’t remember mom all too well….But I think she would be excited for you. And you know she would have made a beautiful dress…”

Chiyo closed her eyes and nodded. She missed her mom so much…She subconsciously rubbed the scar on her wrist. She did not know how she got it…But she’s had it for a very long time.

“Does it tingle again?” Amira asked.
Chiyo nodded. Her scar would tingle every once in a while…It was a strange sensation…But not entirely unpleasant.
“It’s been happening more frequently…” Chiyo said.
The pair sat in silence for a moment or two until Amira stood up.
“Let’s sneak out now!” Amira cried.
Chiyo’s mouth went wide open in a sort of frown.
“OH COME ON CHI!”
Amira threw a dress at Chiyo.
“You’ve got to live for once in your life. You’ve been taking care of me since mom died…It’s time for you to have some fun.”
Chiyo looked at the dress Amira threw at her and smiled.
“Alright…”

Ikuto sighed. He did not understand why his brother was dragging him along.
“Sousuke... Tell me again why I have to come along?” he asked.

Ikuto was an averaged height man with long black hair pulled into a pony tail, with bangs that framed his face. His onyx eyes were tinged with a sort of sadness. He was what most woman would call, very attractive. Ikuto was turning 21 the next day and his younger brother insisted on dragging him somewhere.
Sousuke turned and looked back at his brother. He was a little bit shorter than his brother, but just as pale and had the same onyx eyes. His hair was almost black with a blue tint; from the front it stuck straight up at the top of his head, and from the back it stuck straight out, almost as if he'd gelled it, but didn't. From the front, bangs hang down on his forehead and more frame his face. It would look strange on any other boy, but on him it looked attractive.

“Look…I really like this girl…And she insisted on dragging her older sister along…” Sousuke sighed.
“And you want me to be the distraction?” Ikuto asked, an eyebrow raised.
Sousuke’s cheeks flushed a little and he looked away.
Ikuto chuckled and shook his head.
“You know that I already have an obligated wife…” he said softly.
Sousuke smirked.
“And that is why you should do this. You need to experience other girls before you are forced by Uncle to settle down,” Sousuke said, rolling his eyes.
Sousuke stopped when he saw Amira leading along another girl. She looked sexy tonight... Heh…Not that she was not always sexy…
“Amira…”Sousuke greeted her.
Amira smiled at Sousuke and hugged him.

So…That was Amira…The other girl must be her sister. Ikuto looked at her…and then looked away. She was…Ikuto was not sure how to describe her…It was a weird feeling building inside of him that he banished away.

“Sousuke, this is my sister, Chiyo,” Amira said, pointing at her.
Sousuke nodded at Chiyo in acknowledgement.
“This is Ikuto, my brother…” Sousuke said.
Ikuto nodded.
“It looks like we were dragged along, Miss Chiyo…” Ikuto said.
Chiyo smiled softly and nodded. Her cheeks had a small blush on them
Sousuke and Amira looked at each other and smirked. Sousuke nodded and the pair ran off together.
Chiyo stared in disbelief.
“THEY DITCHED US!” she cried.
“So they have…”
Chiyo sighed and looked at Ikuto.
“I’m sorry Amira did this…” Chiyo said.
Ikuto shook his head.
“It’s alright.”

Ikuto looked at Chiyo’s hand. She was rubbing what looked like an old scar. His eyes went wide. It looked like she had been bitten…By a vampire.
“How did you get that scar?” he asked.
“I don’t know…I’ve had it as l can remember…” she said.
Ikuto took her hand in his and traced the scar.
“Does it bother you?”
“Only sometimes…”she said.
Chiyo shivered.
“It’s getting late…I should go.”
Ikuto looked up at her surprised.
“When can I see you again?” he asked.
Chiyo shook her head.
“I’m to be engaged soon…I can’t…”
No matter how much she wanted to stay… and be with him longer…She could not.
Chiyo kissed his cheek and ran off. She did not stop running until she got home.

Amira arrived at home late to see Chiyo staring out her window.
“How did it go?” Amira asked.
Chiyo shook her head, tears in her eyes.
“I should not have gone…I can’t get him out of my head, Amira…”
Amira climbed up onto Chiyo’s bed and hugged her tightly.
