~Promise Me~

“Why in the world do you want to know about vampires, Amira? They are bad news…” Sousuke said.
Ellie looked away to hide her tears and Amira clenched her fists.
“Our older sister, you met her before, was taken by one…” Amira said.
Sousuke’s eyes went wide.
“Are you serious?”
Amira nodded.
“Dead serious….No pun intended…” Ellie said.
“According to dad…Chiyo has been marked for a long time…and when she turned 18 she was taken so she can fulfill a promise. Please, you have to help us if you can…”
Sousuke closed his eyes and mused.
“From what it sounds like…A witch could not stop him…Yes Ellie I can smell that you’re a witch…That means he’s pretty powerful. It’s best not to mess with him…”
“But she is our sister!” Ellie cried.
“Please…Sousuke…” Amira begged.
Sousuke sighed.
“Alright…I’ll help. I happen to know a few vampires who can help look into this matter…And lucky for you I know your sister’s scent…so if I smell her I can find her…”
Amira hugged Sousuke.
“Thank you!”
“Yeah yeah…” he sighed.

Ikuto’s eyes went wide at the scene he saw. First off…he was surprised that the door was unlocked…Second of all he was surprised to see his uncle trying to bite Chiyo. His eyes flashed with anger. He rushed over and flung his Uncle off of Chiyo.
“You told me that you could not touch her…”he hissed, “Stay away from her.”
Atsushi spat angrily.
“You dare attack your own UNCLE?!” Atsushi growled.
Ikuto turned to Chiyo, ignoring him.
“Are you alright?” he asked.
He paled a little at the site of her blood.
“You’ll pay for this, Ikuto….mark my words…Good luck being around her in her current state…” Atsushi said, leaving them alone.
Chiyo looked up at Ikuto and nodded. He handed her a handkerchief, which she applied to her neck.
“Iku-kun?” she questioned.
Chiyo finally knew why Ikuto seemed so familiar. Ikuto nodded once.
“You’re Sousuke’s brother…And my childhood friend…” she said.
Ikuto nodded again. Chiyo closed her eyes, tears prickling in her eyes.
“And….you’re a…you’re a….”
“Vampire…”Ikuto completed, “Yes…”
Chiyo moved away from him.
“You have every right to be afraid of me…” he said softly, “But please give me a chance…I…”

Ikuto stopped. He what? He barely knew the girl. Sure they had been childhood friends, but that did not mean he had…Feelings for her…
“You what?” she asked softly.
“I’m sorry…” he said, “This is my fault…If I had not forced you to make that promise with me…”
Chiyo shook her head.
“I agreed to the promise…You didn’t know that this would happen…”
Ikuto reached out to brush away a tear that slipped from Chiyo’s eye, but pulled back when he saw fear in her eyes.
“I am not going to hurt you…”he said.
Chiyo looked away from him.
“I will protect you from my Uncle…I won’t let him touch you. I…promise…”
Chiyo looked up at him.
“I...I need some time…Take me home…please…”

Ikuto closed his eyes. If she left…She would die…and he could not let that happen…Nor could he tell her what he knew. That would only frighten her. She was so fragile like a dove.
“I can’t…”
“Why not?!” She demanded.

Ikuto took a strand of her hair in his hand and let it run though his fingers.

“…He will come after you. He will not give up. The only way I can keep you safe is by keeping you here…”
Ikuto walked to the door.
“Please understand…”
He exited and locked the door.
Chiyo ran to the door and tugged on the handle. She banged on the door.
“Let me out! Ikuto! IKUTO!” she cried.
