“What have you found out?” Amira asked Sousuke.
Sousuke scratched one of his dog ears. No use hiding them now.
“My Uncle kidnapped her…”he said closing his eyes, “I talked to her and she seems to be doing ok…I am not sure what Uncle is planning…I was going to let her go, but it’s best to wait until we know more…”
Amira nodded. As much as she hated it…Sousuke was right.
“Do you know any reason to why?” Ellie asked.
“All I know from Nii-san is that Atsushi wants Chiyo and Ikuto to be married…Ikuto seems to be in love with Chiyo…But does not want her to suffer…so he’s trying to help too. But our uncle is too powerful and strong…we cannot beat him unless we know what his motive is. He has nothing to gain from Chiyo marrying and being turned by Ikuto…”
“TURNED?!” Amira cried.
“That’s what a vampire does when they marry a human…” Sousuke said.
“We can’t let that happen…” Ellie said.
Amira nodded.
“We have to stop him…But why Chiyo? Why not another girl? Does it have to do with the promise that she and Ikuto made?” Amira asked.
“What promise?” Sousuke asked.
Ellie and Amira took turns telling Sousuke about the promise that Chiyo and Ikuto made when they were children. When they finished they looked at Sousuke.
“And that is what happened…” Ellie said.
“That explains it…”Sousuke said.
“What?” Amira asked.
“As long as she was marked by Ikuto…only Ikuto can turn her…So, it must be that Atsushi wants her turned for some reason…Something that he can gain after she is turned…” he mused.
“I have to look into this…I’ll report back later…”
Sousuke kissed Amira and ran off.
Amira’s face turned bright red. Her first kiss! ....IT WAS NOT ROMANTIC.
Chiyo rested her head in Ikuto’s lap.
“I’m just so sleepy lately…”she said, “And my scar bothers me…I feel like it needs to be stabbed…or bitten…”
She sighed.
Ikuto chuckled and brushed her hair out of her face.
“Then rest…” he said.
“No…I wanna learn more about you…” Chiyo said.
“Alright…where should we start?”
“Favorite color?”
“Black…”
“Book?”
Ikuto smirked.
“Dracula.”
“You liar!” Chiyo said.
“I’m not lying…” he said.
Chiyo pouted.
“Alright…I am…” he said.
“…Tell me about what happened to Sousuke…” Chiyo said softly.
Ikuto closed his eyes and kissed her forehead.
“Alright…But it’s not a happy one…”
“In a family where both parents are pure vampires, meaning no human blood…every once in a while a human is born to a vampire family. Sousuke was born as a human. The sun did not bother him and he did not heal when he was wounded. He was never accepted by those in the vampire community…But our parents kept him safe. Of course…tragedy struck…Our parents were murdered by vampire hunters…Sousuke and I escaped and were to live with a friend of the family. Sousuke took this very hard and often ran off. One night he was attacked by a werewolf…Being a human…he turned into one…”
Ikuto closed his eyes and paused.
“If it’s too hard you can stop…” Chiyo said.
He shook his head.
“I’m fine…Sousuke was banished from the community…Werewolves are our enemy… They treated him like dirt. Atsushi offered Sousuke a home with him; because he lived outside of the community…I came along, because my brother is important to me…Atsushi welcomed us with open arms when no one else would…But he is evil…I’ve never liked him…”
Ikuto blinked when he saw Chiyo’s tears.
“What’s wrong, sweet?”
“You both…have suffered so much…”
Ikuto pulled her close.
“Shh…we’re alright…”
Sousuke dug through his uncles books, searching. Why? Why Chiyo? What made her special? What could possibly make her special? Something…something…he looked through book after book. It would have to be something that made Atsushi more power…or else why would he be so adamant about having Chiyo?
Sousuke dropped the book he was looking at. This had to be it. Atsushi had circled it and wrote,
“With this I will become all powerful!”
Sousuke could feel the blood drain from his face. He snatched up the book and hurried out the door. He ran and ran. He had to find Amira.
Ellie was hanging up the laundry when Sousuke came running up to her. It was weird to see him without the dog ears and tail.
“Where’s…Amira…”He panted.
“She’s in the back doing chores, what’s wrong?” she asked.
“I know why my uncle wants Chiyo…”
Ellie’s eyes went wide. She set the laundry down and led Sousuke back to where Amira was chopping wood.
“….That is not very feminine…” Sousuke said.
Amira smacked his shoulder.
Erik watched Ellie led a strange boy over to Amira. That boy…he was a werewolf…Why would Amira and Ellie talk to him?
“AMIRA! We know why Atsushi wants Chiyo!” Ellie said.
“It’s all in here…” Sousuke said showing them the book he had found.
Amira and Ellie both paled.
“That can’t be…”Amira said.
“It’s not entirely impossible…”Ellie said.
“It has to be true…Why else would Atsushi mark it like this?” Sousuke asked.
“He has a point…” Ellie said.
“We have to stop this wedding!” Amira said.
Sousuke nodded.
“Follow me…We’re going to steal a bride…”
Erik had listened closely to their conversation. He decided to follow Sousuke, Amira and Ellie so he could steal HIS bride back. He would kill every last vampire if he had to. If Chiyo fell into their hands…The world would be doomed.
