“He and I are…old friends.” She reached out for Jaden’s arm not taking her eyes off of the flustered woman. “Excuse us please, he promised me the first dance.” Sarah’s eyes grew so big she wondered if she was about to throw a tantrum. She finally turned around laughing under her breath as they walked to onto the dance floor.
“Well you’ve learned to focus your viciousness.” He commented taking her hand to dance.
“I can’t stand that woman.” She said eyeing him up mischievously. “I could always take you back to her. I’m sure her feminine charms would win you over eventually.”
“No thank you. Women like her are one of the reasons why I don’t like coming to these things.” They danced together weaving between all the other couples on the floor. She barely took notice of eyes on them not caring what small minded people thought.
“Well I’m sure the Rizel delegates are grateful for your sacrifice.”
He frowned at her. “They’re not the only reason I came.”
The song ended and she stepped back from him feeling warm all of a sudden. Wishing silently for a good strong breeze she noticed Rak watching her, smiling smugly. She resisted the urge to stick out her tongue.
“You said I would be able to meet the Rizel Elders.” She said focusing back on Jaden.
“They will be here shortly. I’ll introduce you, I promise.” He said not sounding too happy about it. Another song began so he offered her his arm leading her off the floor allowing more couples room to dance.
