“Gavel. “ Jaden almost growled in a warning tone, she turned her eyes to him. He was glaring at the Rizel, but Gavel didn’t seem to notice because he never took his eyes off of her. The slight irritation that Jaden had described her as a girl made her meet the Rizel’s stare and smile.
“I would love to.” She caught the look of shock on Jaden’s face taking a small pleasure in it as they turned towards the dance floor.
She couldn’t seem to stop her face from staying hot as he led her to the floor seemingly not caring at more astonished and disapproving stares following them. When they faced off to dance she suddenly felt very comfortable and lifted her chin smiling up at him. As they began moving she said. “You’re not exactly what I expected.”
His smile slipped from his mouth but not his eyes. “And what were you expecting….a savage?”
Lilly looked down, not because it was what she though but because her people had given him that impression. “Actually I meant you’re nothing like Jaden. He cares allot of what other people think of him and what he does. Sometimes that makes him seem formal and aloof. You’re the exact opposite and yet you look as if you could be brothers.”
Gavel’s smile returned. “Forgive me for thinking you were so small minded.” He sighed relaxing. “When it comes to Ingelosi, he is unique even among our people. But yes he is from my clan. Someday I wish to find out what tribe he was from.”
She tilted her head. “Ingelosi?”
He smirked. “It’s a name I gave him. It means guardian.”
