Jaden nodded absently while a loud boisterous laugh boomed making Lilly turn her attention to a large man with two golden sashes across his rather wide middle. The many rings on his fingers and apparel marked him a Baron, the young man beside him was trying to laugh politely but Lilly could tell he wanted to run away.
The young man’s eyes found her then he smiled making her breath catch when she realized who he was. He nodded to the Baron who scowled once the prince’s back was turned while he made his way over. Lilly dipped low into a curtsy. “Your majesty.” She said and came up.
He held out his hand for hers allowing him to bow his head and kiss it formally. “You must be Lady Lilly Avartine. I’ve heard much about you from Lord Jaden.”
She glanced back at him for a second. ”Your highness.” Jaden said soberly.
But the prince’s attention was back to her already. “My your are quite a sight if I may say my Lady.”
Lilly could only smile knowing her face was a red and didn’t dare try to say anything for fear her voice would squeak. “Your highness, I’m Sarrak Captain Othien’s grandson.” Rak spoke up rescuing her from the prince’s gaze. She back up a step to put herself closer to Jaden who took a step closer to her as well.
“Ah, yes. I expect great things from you young man. Your father was a friend of mine before he died. Well…” The prince looked back at Lilly. “I must attend my other guests. It has been a pleasure Lady Lilly. I hope we’ll have more time together, soon.”
Lilly automatically responded not wanting to insult the prince. “As do I your majesty.”
